Letterbox Love

Letterbox Love is a new weekly meme hosted by Narratively Speaking. UK book bloggers have joined together and made a British version of a mailbox meme which is excellent.

My dear Escapists,

These are the books I received over the last couple of weeks. Some of them are unsolicited and some I won. Lately I have been in a funny reading mood and have no patience for trying new books. Is it a crime to want to read only book I know will be good and not take a chance and get bored half way through. I hate DNF-ing books and I've already quit two books in the last two weeks.
Moving on, below are the books I got through my Letter box.

Books I received:

Midnight CrossRoads by Charlaine Harris
I was pretty surprised to see this come through the door and turns out I'd won in an GoodReads Giveaway. I'm not sure if I really enjoy Harris's style of story telling but I will give it a try.
Thank you Gollancz Books.

The Blood Keeper

This is second book in the series which I won from Random House. It looks pretty good and the blurb is promising too. Thank you Random House.

The Destiny of Violet and Luke
This came as a surprise too as I did not expect to find this either. I have read The Temptation of Lila and Ethan by Jessica Sorensen before and enjoyed it too. So I'm looking forward to reading this title by her.
Thanks Little Brown Books.

The Seventh Miss Hatfield
I won this tittle on a GoodReads giveaway too but my eyes have been on this baby for a while now.
Thank you Gollancz.

Angelfall and The World After
I fell in love with Angelfall(my review) the first time I read it and The World After(my review) was a fantastic sequel to follow up the success of Angelfall. I won the above books from Chapter5's lucky dip and was over the moon when they arrived. Not only are they great books but they are pretty to boot.
Thanks Chapter5.

What books did you get this week? Fancy sharing as I'ds love to hear about them.

Letterbox Love is a new weekly meme hosted by Narratively Speaking. UK book bloggers have joined together and made a British version of a mailbox meme which is excellent.

My dear Escapists,

This week while I have had plenty of time to read, I realised how little time I've had to write reviews. So now that I'm really behind on them, you'd see a lot more reviews being posted as I try and catch up. So below are the physical books I received this week as I don't add ebooks to the list or else it'd be too much.

Books I received:

We Were Liars is one the most talked about book in the last few weeks. All I see is rave reviews everywhere so I got my hands on a copy and I'm taking part in the live read starting on Saturday, May 17th on twitter. Use the hashtag #liarsliveread to get involved. Thank You Hot Key Books.

The Buried Life promises to be another great action filled book brought by Angry Robot Books. It sounds like a Steam punk adventure which I'm sure will be exciting. Thank you Angry Robot Books,

I won Ketchup Clouds on the Fierce Fiction blog and it's even signed! Plus it's the one with the pretty designs on the sides. I was so pleased about winning. Thanks Fierce Fiction Team.

What books did you get this week? Any books which made you sequel when you opened the package or any which surprised you?

Letterbox Love

My dear Escapists,

It's been a long time since I did a LetterBox Love. My apologies. Life keeps getting in the way and sometimes it is difficult to post if nothing interesting came through the post.  This past month have been good in terms of reading and reviews. Well, not so good with reviews but my reading has been more organised and I'm taking it easy and only reading what I fancy.

So here's what I have this past month.

Books I received:

I won Far From You in a blog giveaway and I couldn't be happier. I've read so many good reviews and I'm sure it will be great.
Jessica Sorensen has many fans but I'm yet to be converted. I haven't read anything by her yet but have seen her other books around. Considering how many New Adults books I've been reading lately, The Temptation of Lila and Ethan will be a welcome addition. Thank you Little Brown Books.

I won this on a GoodReads giveaway. I have not given this a shot yet but the hardback and the cover is  beautiful and makes me want to pick up my pencil and my sketch pad to draw the beautiful leafless trees on it.

The Devil's Ribbon is a signed copy that I won on a giveaway. Yes, my luck really has been shinning lately.  The Offering by Kimberly Derting is the epic conclusion to The Pledge series. I enjoyed the previous books, The Pledge and The Essence. More on The Offering coming soon on my review.

I have not read Rachel Caine's popular Morganville Vampire series yet. The number of books in the series so far frighten me a little. However, I can wholeheartedly recoomend her other adult series called The Revivalist Series. The first book, Working Stiff and Two Week's Notice were a thrilling to say the least. Prince of Shadows does not reveal much from it's blurb. but as it's been written by such a talented writer, I'll surely give it a go.
Thank you Allison and Busby,

Phew, This is all the physical books I received recently. I won't even start on my NetGalley books as this post will be stupidly long. I get clicky fingers on that site. Seriously

What books did you get this week? Any books which made you sequel when you opened the pakage or any which surprised you?

My dear Escapists,

It's been a long time since I did a LetterBox Love/ STS. My apologies. The only excuse I have is that I have been taking it easy on blogging and memes sometimes put pressure on you to post. Anyway,as it has been quiet on the blogging front books and ARC have been slow too. I have been catching up on my TBR and trying not to be to too greedy.

So here's what I have this week.

ARC I received

My dear Escapists,

Postman Pat has been notoriously MIA recently, thanks to the snow and ice. I don't blame him as it's treachrous outside. So, the only book I received last week is below.

ARC I received

Thanks Allison and Busby for sending methis advance copy. I'm looking forward to reading this.

My dear Escapists,

It's been a while since I did a post like this. I have been MIA but I'll try and rectify it as much as I can. The snow stopped my posts coming through the door so it's a tiny hual but I'm pleased with this.
I do apologise for the photos as the these were taken from a phone.

ARC I received

Thanks Angry Robot Books for sending me this awesome book.I can't wait to start reading this.

I won this from MiraINK but I'm especially excited about Hannah Harrington's new book, Speechless coming out soon. I'm even doing a blog tour on it so keep your eyes peeled.

What books did you stack in your shelf? Share with me .

Oh, and lastly with all the snow falling everywhere, I was inspired to make a snowman for the fist time in my life. No laughing ok, It just turned out more like a Snow Old Lady

Hello my fellow Escapists,
First of all I would like to apologise for being MIA. I have had a hectic few weeks so I haven't had time to update the blog in the past few weeks. That doesn't mean I've stopped reading. turns out no matter what happens in my life I can't stop reading. I have been steadyly going along but just haven't had the inclination to sit and write a review. However, I'll try and be better at it as I'm sure you'll like to hear about the books I've read recently.

So without wasting too much time I'll share what books I received in the past few weeks. This week I'll stick to paper ARC and next week I'll share my e-galley hual.

ARCs I received

Many thanks to Bloomsbury for The Declaration Trilogy and Hidden and Angry Robot for Nexus
