GUNMETAL MAGIC (Kate Daniels#5.5)
Some people have everything figured out — Andrea Nash is not one of those people. After being kicked out of the Order of Knights of Merciful Aid, Andrea's whole existence is in shambles. All she can do is try to put herself back together, something made easier by working for Cutting Edge, a small investigative firm owned by her best friend, Kate Daniels.
When several shapeshifters working for Raphael Medrano — the male alpha of Clan Bouda and Andrea's former lover — die unexpectedly at a dig site, Andrea is assigned to investigate ... and must work with Raphael. As her search for the killer leads her into the secret underbelly of supernatural Atlanta, Andrea knows that dealing with her feelings for Raphael might have to take a backseat to saving the world ...
Anyone, who knows me,have some inkling about how much I love Ilona Andrews. They write great books and I love their sense of humour.Their Kate Daniels Series is my favorite Urban Fanatasy and Kate my favorite heroine.I devour every thing they write. This year instead on a KD book they are publishing Andrea and Rapheal's story. When I first heard this I wasn't so please with it as it meant no Kate Book but I have learnt to console myself by hoping atleast Gun Metal Magic will be in Kate's world.
Moving on to my feeling on the cover. I do not like it.The model does not look like my Andrea, who is supposed to be really pretty. Instead, we have a man dressed as a woman, out for blood with a creepy smile. The buildings in the background go with the Post -shift Atlanta but I don't get the strange wall like place she is standing.
I know I'm ranting but the cover is not to my tastes and completely spoils my anticipation for this book.Saying all this, I'm sure I'm going to love it as whatever this couple write it is gold for me.I have read the first chapter and it was amazing.Eagerly waiting even if the cover sucks.
What do you think about this cover?
